Is Model Railroading Expensive?

You can’t put a price on happiness… but my Wife disagrees with me!

I believe that I spend less on my model railroading than the average male that drinks or smokes… But, then I’m a sucker for buying stuff I don’t really need (because it’s a great deal) and never actually using it.

So, to avoid the arguments, I have had to be very creative where I buy and what price I pay. Often I’ve bought a collection of stuff on eBay (usually a deceased estate) and then resold bits of that collection to recover most of what I have spent.

But, I need your help to settle an argument…

How much money have you spent on model railroading? And how much money do you think should be allocated each month in our budget for model railroading. This will be interesting… Please comment below.
