Builder Kim’s Windmills.

I’ve had some more gorgeous scratchbuild photos sent in by the talented Builder Kim. Little details like these windmills can really make a layout come alive.

“Hi Dan.

I built these windmills from junk. I had a window open with a tiny breeze coming in and that’s all it takes to get these windmills spinning like mad. Rather have them working and not just sitting there doing nothing. Was easy to make them if interested in how, let me know. Once they started spinning I had to place a weight on the edge of them so they wouldn’t take off like an airplane. If done this way will track in the direction of any wind and will even spin if you walk by fast. It doesn’t take much at all.

Thanks
Builder Kim”
