How Are Bridge Models Made? (Video)

This attention to detail is what adds to the overall realism of your dream model train layout.

It is a detailed process. Starting with researching the details, measuring and photographing, to computer design through to manufacture. This ensures that the scaled model you buy matches the real bridge exactly.

Papa, I am very new to Model Trains, but very old in Ceramics. The tool that you were talking about using to clean out fine detail like between bricks etc. Is found in any Ceramic Hobby Shop. It is called a Cleaning tool. They come in many shapes and the curved in comes in several radius bends. The one you were holding in your hand is usually called a “Spear or Lance” point. They also come in “Arrow Head” versions. They sharpen and hold an edge really well. Be careful, they will cut like a razor.

The Lazy Susan looking thing, again can usually be found in most larger Ceramic Shops. They usually just call them a rotating tool caddy. There are several useful tools and accessory items that can be found in the various Ceramic Hobby books and magazines. After all, when you are trying to detail the face or hands on a figurine that only stands an inch tall you have to have small stuff to work on it with. Have fun.
